Houthi missile attacks on Riyadh's main airport kill three and disrupt flights

Yemen's Houthis said they hit Riyadh's King Khalid International Airport with a ballistic missile on Thursday, and a parked Saudia jet caught fire. Lufthansa and Air India suspended flights to the Saudi capital.

Almost half of Riyadh departures were cancelled by mid-afternoon, according to Cirium data cited by Reuters. The Saudi-led coalition said it destroyed missiles fired at Riyadh and Khamis Mushayt, and Saudi officials said debris hit a kindergarten and a medical complex.

Saudi Arabia's civil aviation authority said Friday that Thursday's attacks on the airport killed three Saudi nationals and injured several others, separate from three deaths reported earlier in the week at the Riyadh and Abha airports. The Houthis also warned workers to stay away from Saudi energy facilities.
