OpenAI puts GPT-6 in ChatGPT for every user, with answers that can be small apps

OpenAI began rolling out GPT-6 to paying ChatGPT subscribers on Wednesday and to free users starting Thursday. Paid tiers get GPT-6 Sol and the Free and Go tiers get GPT-6 Luna; the models behind Codex and Work are unchanged.

The launch adds what OpenAI calls “Intelligent UI”: replies can include charts, forms, tappable buttons and small tools built on the spot. “Instead of people adapting to software, software will adapt to people,” the company wrote.

OpenAI says more than 1.2 billion people use ChatGPT each week, and that for questions needing web search, GPT-6 Instant starts answering 44 percent sooner on average than GPT-5.6 Instant. Both figures are the company’s own.
